Firm History

The firm was established in 1975, bearing the names of its founders, Stephen L. Kadish, Byron S. Krantz and Roger J. Weiss.  At that time, they envisioned a law firm that would take a practical approach to representing individuals and closely-held businesses in income and estate tax, corporate and securities law matters.  Over the ensuing years, the membership of the firm has changed, but the founders’ goal has not.  The firm presently is comprised of a team of eleven skilled attorneys, led by Stephen L. Kadish, Kevin M. Hinkel and David G. Weibel, who deliver high-quality legal advice with integrity and common sense.

The firm has expanded its areas of expertise to include, among other things, litigation, commercial law, employment law and probate administration.  As a result, the firm has the capability of representing its clients in a wide variety of matters.

The firm has maintained many long-standing, successful relationships with its clients.  Each has grown with the other, with the result being an extraordinary level of trust and mutual respect.  At the same time, the firm has represented a large number of transactional clients, who often are referred to the firm by other lawyers, as well as accountants and financial advisors because of the firm’s core areas of expertise.

The firm has always been active in professional organizations and its attorneys have been regular speakers at tax and business seminars, both locally and nationally, for over 35 years.  Several of the firm’s attorneys have held chaired positions in many significant legal and business associations.  As a result, the firm has kept at the forefront of important legal issues, and has produced prominent members of both the legal and business communities.

The firm’s success is the result of the fact that it has never lost sight of its foundational goal to provide legal counsel in an atmosphere that is rich in experience, integrity and common sense, yet personal in character.
